Cole Menarez: Music

I Slip, I Run

(Cole Menarez)
Nick Colmenare aka Cole Menarez
Years ago and far away they let me sing.
And I almost lost a friend of mine - that's the ground that I call home.

Moved to San Francisco Bay in 91', and through the city's passageways I lived as a grateful son.

And I slip. I run.

Down in the MIssion I searched for my future - the evidence of things not yet seen.

Every face filled with the beauty of sadness, and every heart haunted by love.

Living on the highway, Hey, you know it doesn't take much money now.

Oceanside and Monterey. We sundanced in a circle of music.

After all is said and done I carry on.
And, I never lost that friend of mine. It's the world that i roam.

And, I slip. I run.

Heaven knows the story I bring to this drama now, really not so much about me.

Standing on the shouldersof forgotten warriors, blind to predictions from those who say I'll fall.

Living on the highway.
Hey you don't take much money now. S

anta Rosa spring day. We drank the new wine of forigiveness.

Fires on the beach down in Half Moon Bay. Riding out the storm by the lighthouse.

Rolling down the highway, wide open spaces inside of me.
